Lips; Original Sculpture - First presented in March 2009

What lips, how they dripped so courageously unmasked!  Hers was the most satiable of all cuisine.

"David was sure by the discursiveness of Doyle's memoir entry that he hadn't taken his meds in a few days.  Usually Doyle would muse over the connections between red and blue, the carnal  and the ethereal, as if abstrusive knowledge was being dictated to him purposefully.  This page was none of that.  In fact, it was nothing at all."
----- Excerpt from The Pedantic Muse

This first piece was completed by Jemiah in April 2010.  It questions how we see ourselves.  Do we see ourselves through someone else's eyes, a parent, a friend, a lover?  If so, do we then become that image, somehow filtered and transformed into something new or what we were originally meant to be?  The portrait's apparent emphasis on the color white also allows the viewer to ponder that there is a mixture of cultures inside of us.  Does his countenance reflect shame or pride?
